Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Tanapon Sangphol (“we”, “us”), the maker of Tab Truck. By installing the extension or using the web app or the website, you accept them. If you don’t accept them, please don’t use Tab Truck.

1. What Tab Truck is

Tab Truck does two things, both on your device, both storing everything in your own Google Drive:

Send & receive — you put a note or a file (up to 512 MB) into your mailbox behind a passcode, and hand someone your short code. They open it in any browser with no account and nothing installed, and it is decrypted in front of them.
Tabs — the extension saves your open tabs into groups and syncs them across your browsers, and can share them as encrypted links.

We operate no server that holds your content. The one service we do run is the short-code directory, which maps a short code to the Drive file id of your mailbox and holds no content, keys or passcodes — it is described in full in our Privacy Policy.

2. Your data, and the limits of what we can do

Your saved tabs and notes are encrypted on your device and stored in your own Google Drive. We never receive them and cannot read them. This is the point of the product — but it has a consequence you must understand before you rely on Tab Truck:

If you lose your passphrase and your recovery key, your data cannot be recovered — by anyone, including us.

There is no “reset password” and no back door. We hold no copy of your key and no copy of your data. Keep your passphrase safe and download your recovery key. If you lose both, your encrypted data is permanently unreadable.

You are also responsible for your Google account and the data in your Drive. If you lose access to your Google account, delete the Tab Truck files, or Google removes them, we cannot restore them.

Tab Truck is not a backup service. It is a convenience tool. Do not use it as the sole copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

3. Your responsibilities

Use Tab Truck lawfully, and don’t use it to store or send unlawful material, malware, or anything you don’t have the right to distribute.
Keep your passphrase, recovery key and private-groups password secure. We cannot reset any of them — they never reach us.
You are responsible for anything you choose to share or send, and for who you give the link — or the code and passcode — to. We cannot see the contents and cannot recall anything on your behalf, though you can revoke or delete it yourself at any time.
Don’t attempt to break, abuse, or interfere with the service or other users, including the short-code directory.

3a. Sending files and messages — what you should know

The send feature has a shape you should understand before you rely on it:

Your mailbox file is readable by anyone who has its address. That is what lets your reader open it with no account. Everything in it is encrypted, so the address alone reveals nothing — but it means the passcode is the only thing protecting a message. Anyone holding your code can fetch the encrypted file and try passcodes against it at their own pace.
Use the suggested passcode. Tab Truck offers a strong, randomly generated one by default. If you replace it with something short or guessable, you materially weaken the protection, and we can’t compensate for that.
Send the passcode by a different route than the code, and give messages an expiry when they’re sensitive.
Limits. Files are capped at 512 MB, and a mailbox holds a limited number of messages. Expired messages and their file contents are deleted automatically.
Reusing a passcode replaces the message filed under it. That is deliberate — it’s what makes a passcode you reuse with a regular contact behave like a standing drop — but it means a reused passcode can overwrite something you meant to keep.

4. Price

Tab Truck is free to use. There is nothing to buy, no subscription, and no paid tier. If that ever changes, these Terms will change with it and existing features will not be taken away from you retroactively.

5. Payment and refunds

Purchases are processed by a third-party payment provider acting as merchant of record, which handles payment and any applicable sales tax or VAT. Their terms apply to the transaction itself.

Refunds: if Pro isn’t what you expected, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you, no questions asked. This is in addition to any statutory rights you may have under your local consumer law, which these terms do not limit.

6. Licence and restrictions

Tab Truck is proprietary software. All rights are reserved. You may use it as intended, but you may not: copy or redistribute it; sell, rent or sublicense it; reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to derive its source code except where that restriction is prohibited by law; remove or alter any notices; or circumvent the Pro licensing.

7. Third-party services

Tab Truck relies on Google Drive to store your data and on Google’s sign-in to authorize access. Your use of Google’s services is governed by Google’s own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for Google’s services, their availability, their pricing, or any loss of data on their side.

This website and the short-code directory are hosted on Cloudflare, and this website loads Ko-fi’s support-button script on its marketing pages. Neither has access to your Tab Truck data. See our Privacy Policy for what each one touches.

8. Availability and changes

We provide Tab Truck on a best-effort basis. We may update, change, suspend or discontinue any part of it, and we may stop distributing it entirely. We’ll try to give reasonable notice of significant changes, but we don’t guarantee continued availability.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Tab Truck is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will preserve your data.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of business, arising from your use of (or inability to use) Tab Truck — even if we’ve been advised such damages are possible.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to Tab Truck is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which, if you use the free version, is zero).

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Termination

You may stop using Tab Truck at any time — uninstall the extension and, if you wish, revoke its access from your Google Account permissions page and delete its Drive files. We may terminate your licence if you materially breach these terms.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we’ll update the date at the top and, where reasonable, note it in the app or on this site. Continuing to use Tab Truck after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Thailand, and the courts of Thailand will have jurisdiction over any dispute — except that, if you are a consumer, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in your own country of residence, and you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections that apply there.
